About Me

I fell into massage therapy entirely by accident. Or, maybe I should say that my calling came to find me. I was preparing to return to get my Masters in Social Work, my first career, when I innocently took a community massage course....  Next thing I knew I had moved across the country to enroll in massage school and found a whole new passion.  Thank goodness I did, because nearly 25 years later, I'm still in love with bodywork and all the worlds it has opened up for me.

I trained locally at East-West College of the Healing Arts and have added many techniques to my toolbox over the years-including sports massage, deep tissue, Structural Integration, PNF & Facilitated Stretching, lymphatic drainage, pregnancy massage, Craniosacral therapy and Compassionate Touch (massage for the elderfly/infirm).  And my newest passion of late is adding energy work to the mix, specializing in combination sessions of massage & Reiki or massage and the Eden Method (aka-Eden Energy Medicine), an energy technique that balances all the energetic systems of the body.  I'm a Reiki II practitioner with the Usui Lineage and I just completed a 210+ hr, 2-year certification training in the Eden Method.

My experiences in bodywork have taken me many places as well; working at a chiropractic office, an alternative healthcare clinic, a retirement center and a senior retreat program.  I've also been in private practice since 1998 and previously founded and co-owned my own wellness center (Earthbody Wellness Center).  I also love teaching and was a massage intstructor for several years at Pioneer Pacific College and worked for the Oregon Board of Massage Therapy as a board examiner.  And besides bodywork, I have practiced meditation (specifically Insight Meditation) for many years and have a background in Shamanic Journeywork, both which ground me and keep me open to intuitive insights in the work we do together.

I also know what's it's like to be on the other side of the table as I have experienced multiple health challenges that broke open my life over the years , including chronic injuries, migraines, mold exposure and a severe case of illness caused by the Epstein Barr Virus. I  have been through and come out the other side of illness so severe that I thought I might never recover.  I now can offer up all the gifts these experiences have given to me-gifts of patience, perserverance and hope, and sometimes even great joy in meeting the challenges of life and being transformed by them.  I offer my deep compassion for you on your journey with wellness.  It's my privilege to offer you some tools and guidance in our work together, to help you tap into your deepest, most connected and balanced self.
